The procedure of Blepharoplasty is carried out in a similar fashion in both sexes. However it is important in men to appreciate that over-tightening the lower eyelid can produce an obvious ‘operated upon’ look, which is slightly unnatural. In contrast to women, Mr Price does not routinely carry out a Mid Face Lift in conjunction. Men considering Lower Blepharoplasty will be carefully assessed in clinic in order to get the maximal balance between surgical correction and a natural look.
Upper Blepharoplasty in men is closely related to the position of the Brow – much more so than in women. For this reason, it is quite common for male patients to require a Brow Lift in addition to Upper Blepharoplasty. This allows the ‘tired’ look associated with low brow position to be corrected – a much more prominent feature in the male face. As such, an Endoscopic Brow Lift often has significant benefit for men considering Upper Blepharoplasty. As before, the balance of rejuvenation vs ‘unnatural’ is important and Mr Price will discuss this with you at your consultation.
